We do not provide VoIP we provide the connection that allows VoIP to work...we have a deal with Connexin which means they will give our customers a number. Once you have a number and a suitable phone (normal BT style phones will not work on VoIP) you can make and receive calls.

I recommend the Siemens Gigaset

I couldn't make the demo the other night, but I would be interested to know how the VOIP (have I got that right) works ? I'd be looking at dropping by current phone bill and broadband and move to the £30 a month tariff - so only a small additional cost per month.
Can normal landlines still call you on VOIP ? And do you get allocated a normal telephone number.
Assume I'd have to use a Skype like service.

Can't wait till its rolled out.

Thank you very much for the presentation at Burtonwood CC.

There seems to be some negativity and scepticism here which I don't understand, personally I can't wait to get connected and rejoining the 21st century since leaving it for Burtonwood.

The only reason I have a phone line and begrudgingly pay BT is so i can benefit from their dire internet connection.

Once I have this I will no longer need a phone line as my mobile provider gives me all the talk time and text I could ever use.

It would be helpful to have some more specific information about how your house is physically connected (making a mess with cables to antenna etc?) and at what point we need to part with our connection fee etc?

What happens if i part with my fee and get connection but there are no longer enough people connected to make the service sustainable? Is connection fee lost? How long will Nextgenus support an undersubcribed service?

Thanks

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your comments. The bundling you are "benefiting" from is due in no small part that the products sold individually you would probably not buy....your broadband, for example, is almost definitely not getting even half of its "upto" speeds quoted by your ISP?

NextGenUs provide networks that are many, many times faster and more reliable than ADSL but we understand its not for everyone. If your connection speeds are acceptable for you use then I would suggest the bundle you currently subscribe to is likely more suitable to you.

If however, you, like many of the residents in Winwick and Burtonwood are finding your broadband almost unusable then you have weigh up if the extra expense of a usable connection is worth taking.

As for "taking off" the area has now reached trigger point and will be launched within 3 months in Winwick and Burtonwood.

Cheers

Having moved into the Black Hole of Burtonwood a number of years ago it seems now there is as solution.

Working from home is a nightmare in this area can't download simple files!!

BT not interested.. cable no plans .. etc etc

My reservation is cost. Currently pay £19.50 for land line, free calls and internet
(Admitted patchy)

With your system up front cost and increased fee plus I would also need to fund land line so my costs are esculating.

What happens if this does not take off do I get my upfront cost back? I remember Rabbit launching a few years ago and look where that went
